New BBC Dementia Support Tools

The BBC has created two free online tools to support people with dementia.

The BBC Reminiscence Archive

The BBC Reminiscence Archive is designed to use archive material (images, video and audio) to trigger memories in people with dementia. It offers over 3000 items from the BBC archives and is free to use, requiring only a tablet, phone or PC with internet access.

BBC Music Memories

BBC Music Memories offers snippets of around 3,000 popular songs from the past 100 years, along with classical music from popular composers and TV & Radio theme tunes.

BBC Memory Radio – is a specially created archive of music-based radio shows from the past decade accompanied by activity guides for each show.

Again free to use, requiring only a tablet, phone or PC with internet access.
