Safe
Safety is paramount to our everyday life at Chery Tree. We care about the ongoing safety of our Residents, like we would our own family. Our Residents feel safe, and in our recent CQC report our Residents feedback that they “feel safe here. I am with people who care about me”.
Our exceptional safety record is structured around our processes and our dedicated staff, who the CQC witnessed were patient, had meaningful conversations and spent time to undertake activities.
Effective
At Cherry Tree, we provide only the most effective service. In our recent Care Quality Commission (CQC) report it was witnessed that we are “on the ball and instructions are followed to a tee”.
What we are most proud of is that the CQC acknowledged our commitment to our Resident’s changing needs and when things change and our Residents require something new and different, we adapt, and then communicate the change.
We realise that life is full of twists and turns and we help our Residents along the way, part of us providing an adaptive service.
Caring
Our staff have been described by our Residents as “exceptionally kind & caring, pleasant, marvellous and friendly”.
Our recent CQC report outlined that all our compliments and Residents’ reviews highlighted the caring approach of our staff.
The CQC inspectors observed that our staff were motivated to provide the highest standard of care and witnessed excellent caring, affectionate and respective interactions. And that they observed lots of smiles, hugs and laughter.
Responsive
“You’re never too old” is our ethos at Cherry Tree. The CQC observed this to be true and in their inspection witnessed “a home, full of activity, involvement and fun”.
The extensive of the family atmosphere we have here at Cherry Tree gives people an excellent quality of life, to be enjoyed at their own pace.
Music, dance, engagement with the local community, games, laughter and pet visits amongst other things, all add to the atmosphere of our home.
Thinking about our Residents as people, as we would care for our own families, is the reason why we achieved an Outstanding rating in the CQC inspection, the first home in East Lancashire to achieve this standard.
Well-led
Throughout our 2019 CQC inspection, their team witnessed many examples of how “the registered manager and the team shared a clear commitment to providing a high-quality service which ensured that people could live as fulfilled lives as possible”.
They also witnessed the staff’s full commitment to the continuous improvement of the service and our dedication to making people feel valued.
They witnessed our commitment to improving care, both now and for the future, a key element of which was our ability to think for the future and our approach to advanced care planning.
Looking to make improvements both today and to plan for the future, was a key reason our leadership approach achieved an Outstanding rating in the CQC inspection.
Ongoing investment
We’ve invested in a beautiful outdoor area, specially adapted to meet the needs of our Residents.
We understand the importance of being outdoors for physical and mental health and our garden is like an extra room at Cherry Tree.
But don’t just take our word for it.
